Whether you’re creating a small batch of custom parts or scaling up for high-volume production, Flatout’s Custom 3D Printing Services offer the flexibility you need.
What's 3D Printing?
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a process that builds objects layer by layer from a digital model. It allows for rapid production of complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible with traditional manufacturing methods. Ideal for both prototyping and low-volume production, 3D printing offers unmatched flexibility, reduced lead times, and a wide range of material options from standard plastics to high performance composites.

Advanced 3D Printing Technologies
Flatout offers industrial grate 3D printing services, take a look at the different printing methods we offer.
SLA (Stereolithography)
SLA uses a high precision laser to cure liquid resin into solid layers, resulting in parts with exceptional detail, smooth surfaces, and tight tolerances. It’s ideal for detailed prototypes, intricate designs, and cosmetic components where visual quality matters.
HP MJF (Multi Jet Fusion)
HP MJF uses a fusing agent combined with heat to produce strong, functional nylon parts with excellent mechanical properties. It’s perfect for small batch production, complex geometries, and parts that require durability and precision.
SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)
SLS fuses powdered materials layer by layer using a laser, creating robust and durable parts without the need for support structures. It’s an excellent choice for functional prototypes, end use parts, and designs with intricate internal features.
SLM (Selective Laser Melting)
SLM uses a high powered laser to fully melt and fuse metal powders, producing high strength, complex metal components. This process is ideal for aerospace, medical, automotive, and industrial applications where performance and reliability are critical.
3D Printing Materials
A wide range of engineering-grade plastics and metals to match your performance, strength, and application requirements.
3D Printing Post Processing
Enhance the appearance, strength, and functionality of your 3D printed parts with our professional post processing options. Whether you need a smooth finish, vibrant colors, or increased durability, we provide the right solution to bring your parts to life.
As Machined
Best for functional prototypes or internal components where appearance isn’t a priority. Parts are delivered straight off the printer with no additional finishing, maintaining raw textures and natural strength.
Printing
Enhance both aesthetics and durability with a wide selection of colors and protective surface coatings. Perfect for end use parts where branding, customization, or visual presentation matters.
Electroplating
Apply a durable metal coating to improve strength, wear resistance, and conductivity. A great option for parts that need both functional enhancement and a premium metallic finish.
Polishing
Reduce surface roughness and achieve a smooth, visually appealing finish. Ideal for parts where surface quality is critical, including consumer products, prototypes, and display pieces.
Flatout 3D Printing Solutions
Whether you’re creating a small batch of custom parts or scaling up for high volume production, Flatout’s Custom 3D Printing services offer the flexibility you need.
Prototyping
Get your ideas off the screen and into your hands fast. Our prototyping service is perfect for early stage product development, allowing rapid iteration with functional, high resolution prints. Choose from a variety of materials and technologies to validate your designs before moving to production.
Low Volume
Ideal for bridge manufacturing, small-batch orders, or limited run products. Our low volume 3D printing service offers the precision and consistency you need to launch products, fulfill pre-orders, or support custom builds without the lead time or tooling costs of traditional manufacturing.
End-use
When you need parts at scale, we deliver. Our advanced 3D printing infrastructure supports repeatable, high throughput production for end-use components. With optimized print setups and streamlined workflows, we help you reduce per part cost without sacrificing quality.
What Makes Us Different?
At Flatout Manufacturing, we don’t just 3D print — we deliver purpose built parts engineered for performance, precision, and production ready reliability. Whether you’re prototyping a single component or scaling up to hundreds, our approach combines cutting edge equipment with a deep understanding of material science and part function.
Industrial-Grade Surface Quality
We go beyond rough prototypes. Our post processing options like polishing, vapor smoothing, and electroplating give your parts a clean, production ready finish — ideal for customer facing or functional components.
Tight Tolerances & Strong Materials
With tuned machines, advanced materials, and dialed in settings, we produce high resolution parts with tolerances as tight as ±0.2 mm. From carbon fiber reinforced FDM to medical grade SLM metal prints, we build parts to perform — not just look good.
Real Engineering Support
You’re not just uploading a file — you’re working with experienced engineers who understand how to optimize geometry, orientation, infill, and wall thickness for strength, speed, and cost. We review every part to ensure it prints right the first time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question not answered here? Contact our engineering team and we’ll get back to you quickly.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept all major 3D CAD formats including STEP (.stp), STL, OBJ, SolidWorks (.sldprt), and Parasolid (.x_t). For multi-part assemblies, STEP is preferred. 2D drawings in PDF are helpful for callouts and finishing requirements.
How fast can parts be produced?
Rapid prototyping orders typically ship in 1–5 business days. Low-volume runs are 5–10 days. Production orders 10–20 days. Rush timelines are available — contact us to discuss your deadline.
What materials are available?
We offer a wide range of engineering thermoplastics (nylon, ABS, polycarbonate), high-performance materials (PEEK, Ultem), flexible elastomers (TPU), photopolymer resins, and metal powders for SLM. Visit our materials page for the full list.
Can you produce end-use production parts?
Yes. MJF, SLS, and SLM are all well suited for end use production parts. We help you select the right process and material for your functional, mechanical, and environmental requirements.
Do you offer post-processing?
Yes — we offer as printed, painting, electroplating, polishing, and support removal. Post-processing options can be selected when you submit your quote request.
What happens after I submit a quote request?
Our engineering team reviews your CAD files, recommends the best process and material for your application, and sends back a detailed quote typically within 24 hours. We follow up if we have any questions about your design or requirements.
